Beginner's Guide

How to play

Bingo takes about two minutes to learn and one lucky night to love. Here's exactly how a session works at our hall.

Buy in at the door

Call ahead to reserve your seat, then come in when doors open, head to the cashier, and pick your session package — from $20 on Tuesday mornings. You'll get paper game sheets and any specials you add on.

Grab a dauber and a seat

A dauber is the ink stamper you use to mark numbers. Bring your own lucky one or buy one at the hall. Sit anywhere you like — regulars are friendly, and staff will help you get set up.

Mark your numbers

The caller announces numbers one at a time — like B-9 or G-52. Check your sheets and daub every match. Each game announces its winning pattern before it starts: a line, an X, four corners, or a full blackout.

Yell BINGO!

Complete the pattern? Shout it loud — that's the whole point. A floor worker verifies your card and you get paid on the spot. If you're one number away, you're 'on' — and your table will be sweating with you.

The Games We Play

Three ways to win

Every session mixes three kinds of games. Your buy-in covers the papers — strips and pull tabs are the bonus action on top.

Paper games

The main event · 10 games every session

These are the classic bingo sheets in your buy-in pack — 10 games per session, and every game plays on its owncolor-coded sheet. When the caller announces "Blue sheet — 3 Bingos Anywhere," you grab the blue sheet and you're in.

Every game has its own winning pattern — 3 Bingos Anywhere, Letter X, Crazy Kite, Stamp Collection, Block of Eight — and they're all printed on the program at your table, with a diagram next to each game. Complete the pattern, yell BINGO!, and a floor worker verifies your sheet and pays you on the spot.

The real programs — tap to read

These are the actual programs from our three weekly sessions: every game, its sheet color, and its pattern. Sessions break in the middle — that's when the coffee and the strip games come out.

Strip games

5 per session · Tuesday evenings & Sundays

Strips are the narrow tickets that ride along with your main pack — each one a stack of mini bingo cards on a single strip. They're included with your Tuesday evening and Sunday buy-ins, and the caller announces when each strip game is live.

You daub them exactly like paper, but strips come with their own twists:

  • OR squares — two numbers share one square. If either gets called, the square is cleared. Half the fun is the double chance.
  • FREE squares — printed cleared, yours from the first number.
  • Its own way to win — every strip game announces its rule before it starts, usually clearing a full mini-card or the whole strip.

The games — real examples

We run 5 strip games per session and the mix rotates — here's the kind of card each game plays on. Red marks show winning examples.

Pull tab games

Instant wins · available all session

Pull tabs are peel-open tickets sold throughout the session — some pay instantly when the right combination is under the tabs, and some put you in one of the bonus games below, played alongside a designated bingo game. Ask any floor worker to point you to what's on sale tonight.

Daub pull tab ticket example

Daub

A ticket with several bingo numbers hiding under the tabs. It plays alongside a designated bingo game — daub your ticket's numbers as they're called, and the first player to complete their ticket during that game wins.

Downline (Derby) pull tab ticket example

Downline (Derby)

Your ticket carries the same numbers as one of the downlines on the flashboard. When the designated game runs, the first downline to fill in completely wins it for whoever holds the matching ticket.

Hold Ball pull tab ticket example

Hold Ball

A last-ball game: if your hold ticket shows the final number called in the designated bingo game, you win. Just listen up — the caller announces exactly which hold ball they're looking for.

Good to Know

Questions first-timers ask

I've never played bingo. Will I be lost?

Not at all. Staff will walk you through your first session, and the caller announces each game's pattern before it starts. Most first-timers are comfortable by the second game — and hooked by the fifth.

What's the difference between paper games, strip games, and pull tabs?

Paper games are the main event — full bingo sheets from your buy-in pack, one pattern per game. Strip games are narrow bonus tickets with stacked mini-cards and twists like OR squares and FREE spaces — we play 5 per session on Tuesday evenings and Sundays. Pull tabs are instant-win tickets you open on the spot, available throughout the session.

How much does it cost to play?

Buy-ins are $20 for Tuesday mornings, $35 for Tuesday evenings, and $50 for Sunday afternoons. Each buy-in includes your paper game packs plus special or strip games for the session.

Do I need to reserve a seat?

Walk-ins are welcome, but we recommend calling (714) 498-8221 ahead of time to reserve your seat — it guarantees your spot and helps us set the room. Either way, doors open one to two hours before games start, which is the best time to settle in and buy extra sheets.

How old do I have to be?

All players must be 18 or older.

What should I bring?

Just yourself and your buy-in. Daubers are available at the hall if you don't have one. Many regulars bring good-luck charms — we encourage it.

Is there transportation to the hall?

Free parking is available at the hall. A pickup van service for surrounding cities may be coming soon — call us for the latest.
